Clavister SFP module compatibility.

Post by Peter » 20 Mar 2017, 13:28

This FAQ applies to:
  • Any Clavister appliance model with support for SFP or SFP+ interface modules.
Question:

Do Clavister have any recommended vendor or compatibility list when it comes to SFP module brands?

Answer:

Yes, the only recommended SFP/SFP+ modules are those sold by Clavister (see https://www.clavister.com/products/ngfw ... ack-mount/), Clavister do not offer support on or guarantee the functionality with third party SFP/SFP+ modules.

We currently have support for the following Ethernet Interfaces in cOS Core for e.g. the W5:

  • Gigabit RJ45 interfaces Automatic MDI-X
    1000BASE-T (copper RJ45 100m)
    100BASE-TX (copper RJ45 100m)
    10BASE-T (copper RJ45 100m)

  • SFP interfaces 1000BASE-SX (multi-mode 550m)
    1000BASE-LX (single-mode 10,40,80km)
    1000BASE-T (copper RJ45 100m)
  • SFP+ interfaces 10GBASE-SR (multi-mode 300m)
    10GBASE-LR (single-mode 10km)
    10GBASE-ER (single-mode 40km)
    10GBASE-ZR (single-mode 80km)
    10GBASE-CR (direct attach)
NOTE: This list is subject to change in the future, for latest version please see the quickstart guides for your specific appliance.

Supplementary: We have done tests using DAC cables of the "Leoni" brand in 1, 3 and 5m setups with good results.
