Does VPN offer virus protection?

Post by angelaandrea » 24 Jun 2016, 12:33

I have been experiencing poor performance in my laptop and it often gives me warnings (my anti-virus). I guess there are viruses in my laptop but I don’t understand how there could be one as I always had anti-virus activated. Recently I went through VPN services and most of them said something about protection, Does VPN offer protection against Virus?

VPN which is called Virtual private network helps you to bypass firewall or hide your IP address, it doesn't have any concern with the anti-virus but although it blocks some viruses also. It depends on which VPN you are using and what services it allows. Found some useful article on reviewsdir(dot).com about Best Windows VPN https://www.reviewsdir.com/blog/best-windows-vpn/ have a look may you will get some good idea about Windows VPN.

You probably have an outdated antivirus, or using a limited feature antivirus. You can install and configure a free antivirus from Bitdefender and do a complete system scan to remove viruses. Install a free malware software such as Malwarebytes and run it every once in a while to remove malware. Best VPN for windows protects your internet connection not the computer. It blocks phishing websites that tries to install malware on your system.

There is no anti virus protection in VPN as this is not a goal of getting it. Try anti virus software and you will be safe :)

No, VPN don't offer virus protection but to hide IP that makes your browsing activities anonymous which means no one will ever see your activities. Personally, I am using PureVPN Windows VPN for my privacy need.

Yeah vpn cloaks your ip but who does it make it safe? Coz hackers can have access to your original Ips to hack you. If they don't have access to it then hacking is impossible. May be Ip leaks are the case.

I have already purchased a year subscription and when I posted my question here I was reading a lot of anti-hacking moves done by vpn providers that help you with while you're using torrents and other activities.
It got me confused but then a read a whole bunch of TechRadar and HowtoGeek articles to straighten my head. :D
