Chromecast in a multi-VLAN environment?

Has anyone tried, and succeeded, to set up a solution where a Chromecast is connected to a VLAN, and the users in another VLAN?

We have a customer, a small school, that wants to have this setup and have asked us to help.
They have separate VLANs for students and staff, and a separate VLAN for shared services, e.g. printers and now a Chromecast.

From what I have read, the problem is that mDNS is used, and it seems to have a TTL of 1, which (might) make it non routable.
Would it be possible to set this up using switchroutes or SAT multiplex rules? If so, what needs to be configured?

Can anyone give us guidance?

Thanks, /Kenny

I do not have any experience with this i'm afraid, but i know that you can lower the TTLMinimum to 1 for both normal TTL and Multicast under System->Advanced Settings->IP.

When it comes to Multicast and Multiplex rules i would recommend having a look at the cOS Core admin guide for some advice/tips to see if it can be applied to your scenario.

Best regards
