Restore/rebuild HA after HW failure

Post by jonasT » 14 May 2019, 17:06

Hello,

I need some guidance regarding restoring a failed HA pair. I tried looking in the documentation and forum but with no luck. The Master node in my HA cluster have failed and needs to be replaced. Are there any guides on how to do this the best way without disrupting production?

Should I change the role of the old Slave to Master and then add the new hardware as Slave and then run the HA wizard on the Slave device?

Is it ok to change HA role on the old Slave to Master without disruption?

Thanks,
Jonas

Hello.

There is a hardware replacement guide which you can find on each cOS Core version download section.

Here is a link to the document for version 12.00.17 (requires login):

My preferred method is to use a backup from the existing unit then change the node type before deployment. But it's a matter of preference
