Set up priorotized VLAN traffic for voice with PPPoE

Post by SECOIT GmbH » 16 Apr 2018, 12:31

Hi All,

here in Germany some providers have priority tag requirements for SIP/RTP packets when using their VDSL connection and PPPoE.

To provide an example this is what is required:
- WAN VDSL connection via PPPoE
- All traffic going to that VDSL WAN connection must be tagged VLAN ID 7 (most providers, some use 40 or another VLAN ID)
- VoIP traffic (SIP/RTP) must have the priority 6 (or 5, depending on provider) set in the VLAN segment of the IP packet
- Any other traffic must have priority 0 set in the VLAN segment of the IP packet

With the product I'm using currently at most customers who use VDSL this is achieved easily by setting the VLAN priority on the appropriate allow rule and this is passed through the firewall end ends up on the PPPoE packets.
But unfortunately I'm currently struggling a lot to get this working with Clavister (which I'm using with nearly all new projects).

Is there a manual on how to achieve this with Clavister?

This is an example a document from M-Net, a local provider in the Munich area that describes the requirement that I wrote about:

(Section 3.3, only German unfortunately)

Thanks,
Michael
