Using Asterisk in Domains to be included in Custom Category

Post by Shawnturner » 19 Feb 2018, 07:30

Hi,

I have noticed that, when I use Asterisk in domain name of domain to be included in custom category, the website will not be recognized at all.

I need for example to block all subdomain of this website microsoft so I use *.microsoft, here Microsoft website will not blocked.

Have someone idea how to use Asterisk in such cases or which kind of wildcard can understand Barracuda Web Filter ?

for example I neeed to block all website extension from msn, what have I to write instead of msn ?

Please help.

Thanks!

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

Hello.

Which Core version are you using? It should be possible to achieve with pretty much any Core version using the HTTP/HTTPS ALG and use the blacklist functionality.

For more information and examples please see the "Static Content Filtering" section in the admin guide.
