Best Practices DNS

Post by scaledem » 09 Jan 2018, 16:33

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for the best way to setup DNS with Clavister.

I'm from another firewall, and it was easy because for all the clients I could define the firewall as the DNS Server. And the firewall could resolve from Google, or do a request routing to the active directory domain concerned.

In Clavister, how does it work ?
In the DHCP server, I would have to setup DNS1 for the DNS server from the active directory, and DNS2 to Google to resolve the external requests.

How do you guys do it ?

In the Clavister you will have to specify the Internal DNS Server and an external DNS Server in the DCHP server for the client.
We do not have any functions that allows us to act as a DNS Relay so specifying the gateway for both internal and external DNS queries will not work.

Best Regards
